Tia Fuller What You Need to Know

Professional Saxophonist, Composer and Educator
As an accomplished educator, performer and Mack Avenue Recording artist, Fuller has
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Spelman College (Magna Cum Laude)
and Master’s degree in Music from University of Colorado at Boulder (Summa Cum
Laude). Fuller has been the featured saxophonist with pop diva Beyonce, being
featuried on the “I Am..Sasha Fierce,” “Beyonce Experience,” and “Live at the Wynn
Theatre” world-wide tours (2006-2010). In addition, she has recently served as the
assistant musical director Esperanza Spalding’s ‘Radio Music Society’ tour as well as
performing with Terri Lyne Carrington’s ‘Mosaic Project’ and ‘Money Jungle’ tour.
Fuller has received numerous accolades as a band leader, her band has toured
Panama, North Sea Jazz Festival, Umbria, Angola, South Africa, just to name few. She
has recorded four albums, three which are on the Mack Avenue Record label, (Healing
Space, Decisive Steps, Angelic Warrior, and self-produced-Pillar of Strength).
And as a devoted educator, she has recently received a full-professorship teaching at
the Berklee School of Music, while continuing to performing as a side woman with the
following: Rufus Reid, Geri Allen, Ralph Peterson and many others. While continuing to
balance both worlds of education and performance she is also instrumental in facilitating
masterclasses, clinics and lectures world-wide.
